Facts about English (Lesson-20)

Hi, friends!
My name is Snehal and today I am back with another episode of podcast. What you have to do is just chill out and listen to the today’s topic. You don’t have to pay much more attention to that. You have to keep yourself aware of some beautiful facts about English only. So, the topic is “Fact about English”. Without wasting much time, let’s dive into it.

Fact-1: “E” is the most commonly used letter of the alphabet and “THE” is the most commonly used word in English.
Fact-2: It sounds strange but it’s true that English is not the official language of the USA. However, English is one of the official languages in Japan.
Fact-3: “I do” is the shortest sentence in English.
Fact-4: “Town’ is one of the oldest words in English.
Fact-5: Though “Z” is the last letter of the alphabet, “J” is the last letter added to the alphabet.
Fact-6: A pangram is a sentence that contains every letter from the alphabet. An example of pangram is: THE QUICK BROWN FOX JUMPS OVER THE LAZY DOG.
Fact-7: English was the first language used for online communication.
Fact-8: English is the official language of the Aviation industry.
Fact-9: The longest word in English that I know is : PNEUMONOULTRAMICROSCOPISILICOVOLCANOCONIOSIS. This word has 44 letters. It’s crazy, huh?
Fact-10: In order to speak good English, we should know only 132 words. It sounds weird, no?
Fact-11: English is the third most commonly spoken language in the word. (1st – Mandarin Chinese and 2nd – Spanish)
Fact-12: The dot above the letters “i” and “j” is called TITTLE or SUPERSCRIPT DOT.
Fact-13: The first English dictionary was published in 1755.
Fact-14: More words begin with the letter “S” than any other letter of the alphabet.
Fact-15: UNCOPYRIGHTABLE is the longest word without any repeated letters.
